yes, second generation are those children born outside Canada to a Canadian citizen.

  1. by operation of law should they have been born after 2009 ruling. If born before you may still be able to claim but check as I am second generation and that is because my dad was not considered canadian even though his mum was born in Canada…the reason for this is the ruling back then of females t be able to pass on citizenship. This was changed and changed again and again by various updates and rules …..so retrospectively male lines can still claim for 2nd gen born abroad before 2009 but not female lines…
